New Fabric Designs

"FLOCK"

I created this digital drawing during the recent Covid 19 lockdown. I felt the need to draw birds and the freedom they symbolise. My love of pattern and colour helped make this an upbeat print, one that will always remind me of this very strange and somewhat daunting time. Now that I think about it there isn't a lot of social distancing going on in this print now is there?

"MARRAKESH PINK"

If you are looking for inspiration, colour therapy, unique culture there is nowhere more impressive than the city of Marrakesh with its hidden riads and gardens. I was lucky enough to be able to see it for myself and make these ink drawings. This print is available as a limited edition print in my online shop and on www.saatchiart.com/shirleycopperwhite

"A NEW DAY"

This new print for 2020 was inspired by the West of Ireland. The image is pared back with a strong palette. The only white in the print is the little cottage building in the distance. A perfect contrast to the rest of the colour palette. Looking forward to visiting here again sometime soon!

"HOTHOUSE FLOWERS"

These ink drawings were from a week spent drawing in Dublins beautiful Botanic Gardens. The greenhouses are just bursting with ferns and tropical foliage of all shapes. Inspiring even for the most lack lustre gardener! This is one of a few drawings in ink...work in progress.

TEXTILES

Delighted to be working on a range of textiles using my ink paintings. I enjoy working across a number of disciplines from painting to textiles, the ideas flow between each other and keep me inspired! Stay tuned.

JACK & JILL FOUNDATION

I was delighted to be part of this years "Incognito" exhibition for the Jack & Jill children's foundation. To raise funds for gravely ill children and their families. Even with Covid 19 this year it was a huge success raising more than 140K. It was exciting to be part of this along with Bono, Paul Costelloe, Maser and many more amazing people.

"My work is primarily about colour and pattern. Inspired by nature, science and mans interaction with both. I work in both digital and traditional mediums across a number of disciplines."

My instagram pages are updated regularly with sketches and insights into my studio work and life.

I ordered a print to hang in my new apartment. Shirley was very helpful and the print looks great in my hallway.
